According to the 2003 publication "Finding the Way Home: Preventing and Reducing Homelessness in Texas" there are approximately 54,000 to 102,000 homeless people in Texas on any given day. This publication by the Texas Homeless Network compiled information from accross the state to provide a complete description of
homelessness and those affected in Texas.

More than half of all homeless people in Texas are homeless for less than a year. Of the homeless, 66 percent are single adults and 34 percent are families with children.
